I randomly get times when every application using the internet/the internet itself stops, (xfire logs off, cs 1.6 crashes, steam lags up, internet says refused connection every damn time), and I don't know why. Sometimes it gives an error "Net Packet Overflow" or something like that, but I can't figure out how to fix it. If anyone arleady knows what the problem is pelase help, but if not don't feel like you have to Don't want anyone having extra work. |

Is that the newest modem they have available? I had a problem with mine, I would drop connection and the modem would reset itself. Turned out the modem was crap and too old. I turned it in for a free upgrade...now I have a better ping and faster net connection |

I THINK it is... It's a Motorola Modem, It stand vertical with all of the lights vertical in the front as well. Too lazy to go check the model number right now though I'll make sure to call and ask in a few days hehe. |

| i had that problem with my comcast cable, but i have a 12mbps connection speed. its the modem, you are literally overloading it, much like you can overload ram when you play a graphic intense game for too long. quick fix for it? not a permanent one, but everytime you get a disconnect, unplug your modem, (i prefer leaving the power on and just removing the cable connection manually) and touch the "wick" of the cable with your finger, to ground the wire, and hook it back up, you should be just fine. i used to get a disconnect every hour or so, but i got a new modem, and everything has been fine, so look into either purchasing a new modem, not the one provided for free, and try that. if your problem persists, its most like a registry issue like tux said, in which case, i can't help you, i only touch registry to delete evaluation signatures so i can reuse trial programs with time limits on them, lol. |
